Arctic Reflections, founded by Fonger Ypma and Tom Meijeraan, aims to restore the Arctic’s reflective ice shield by pumping seawater onto the ice during winters to create thicker, longer-lasting ice sheets. This technique prevents ocean heat absorption and mimics the cooling effect of removing CO₂. Supported by Carbonfix, their proof-of-concept expedition in Svalbard is a bold step toward mitigating global warming through Arctic restoration.
