We exist for the planet loving, risk taking, hope giving, no-excuse-accepting, awe-inspiring, carbon avoiding, reducing, capturing innovators that seek smart funds & fun with a best-in-class climate network.

We’re part of a family office employing various funding instruments to catalyse carbon inventions and interventions.

In addition to philanthropy and earliest-stage climate investing, the family office actively engages in direct climate investing (seed to Series B) and impact fund investments as an LP.

Meet our CarbonFixers

We’re a small group of entrepreneurs, investors, scientists, learners, and – despite it all – optimistic climate-loving people. We have built, sold (and, yes, crashed) ventures. We have run NGOs, attempted to change systems, influenced policies, participated in politics, failed, stood back up and made like-minded friends along the way.

Siemon van den Berg

Siemon is CarbonFix Foundation’s chairman. After selling his company in 2019, he started investing for the climate through VC funds, direct investments and philanthropy.

Jeroen Hazewinkel

Jeroen is a board member of CarbonFIx and science lead. An expert on new technology deployment and energy transition technology. Jeroen has a PhD in Physics and Climate Science and initiated and supported various MT CCUS projects. Jeroen is also a partner at Darel and founder of the Carbon Removal platform Sinkit.

Pepijn van Dijk

Pepijn leads CarbonFix's systemic work. Entrepreneur, strategist and board director at the intersection of climate, politics and innovation. Co-host of Grip op de Chaos, a weekly podcast on climate, technology and power. Happiest in the mountains — preferably ones that still have glaciers.

Jarno van den Heuvel

Jarno is a finance professional and CPA. He is part of BigCircle Ventures, a cleantech venture studio. At CarbonFix he helps to get all investments executed.

Arnoud Haverlag

Arnoud is a tech & impact entrepreneur. He co-founded and served as CEO at Marvia, Backspace, Soverin and BYBORRE. As Executive Director he’s developing the annual strategy and oversees day-to-day operations at CarbonFix.

Isabel Mora

Isabel’s background is in building innovative and entrepreneurial solutions to various industries to maximize impact for people & planet. At CarbonFix, she leads Operations & Partnerships.

Sophie Knight

Sophie is a journalist and researcher with a background in anthropology. After working as a journalist in Tokyo, she moved to the Netherlands and began specialising in climate change. She speaks a few languages (including Japanese) and really loves long reads about scientific breakthroughs. She is in charge of Communications at CarbonFix.
