About this project
Pronoe (Greek for forethought) pioneers ocean-based carbon removal by enhancing coastal alkalinity. Their automated water treatment systems integrate seamlessly with industrial sites, reducing ocean acidification and restoring natural CO₂ uptake. With an ambitious target of 500 kilotons of removal capacity by 2030, Pronoe ultimately aims to remove 700 megatons per year. Their electrochemical process is waste-free, adaptable, and operates within existing environmental permits. Backed by CarbonFix, Pronoe is now developing its first industrial demonstrator—taking a practical, responsible approach to scaling ocean-based carbon removal. And found & led by Nicolas Sdez.
