About this project

Airzyme combines biotechnology and material sciences to create “Bio-DAC,” a biomimetic Direct Air Capture system. Inspired by natural gas exchange in lungs, the process uses Carbonic Anhydrase enzymes to capture CO₂ in a low-energy loop. Founded by Roshan and Moshen [last names], Airzyme is developing a bench-scale pilot and targets a 1,000-ton annual capture capacity by 2027. Their nature-inspired approach aims to achieve gigaton-scale CO₂ removal by 2035.
